Here are some tips and tricks that our in-house plant expert has provided to ensure the best care possible!
How much should I water my plant?
All plants require water and adequate drainage to thrive. Before watering your plant - test the soil's moisture levels with your finger. Tropical plants like Monstera and Birdsnest Ferns prefer moist, well-drained soil, which means that your plant should never be sitting in water. Additionally, these plants love a good misting to maintain humidity around their foliage every few days.
How much light should I give my plant?
Your plant will thrive in bright, indirect light such as from a window in a South or West-facing room.
Ick! My plant has bugs. What do I do?
Fungus gnats (also called soil gnats) are probably the most common (and annoying) houseplant pests. If you find your plant swarming with these pests, mix a small amount of dish detergent with tepid water and spray the entire plant, foliage and soil. Adjust watering schedule to prevent overwatering, as larvae thrive in moist, wet soil or apply a Neem Oil solution to the top layer of the plant bed.
