Soil: Orchids do not like to be overwatered. Watering is typically needed when the roots look silvery or the bark feels dry.
How to Check Moisture: Stick your finger into the potting medium (bark or sphagnum moss) to check if it's dry.
Watering Tips:
- Use warm water (but not too hot). Orchids prefer slightly warmer water than room temperature.
- Water top down or give them a soak in warm water when they first come in.
- Beginner Tip: Orchids prefer to dry out between waterings. They like their roots to be somewhat dry before being watered again. If you’re unsure, it’s better to underwater slightly than to overwater. Avoid letting orchids sit in standing water.
